On Monday, we are starting our Christmas
Around the World unit in Social Studies. For the next three and a half
weeks, we will be “traveling” all over the world leaning about how
different countries celebrate the holidays. We will be getting passports and suitcases that the children will be taking with them throughout the unit. Each day, students
will get their plane ticket punched as they board the plane to travel to
the ”country of the day”. We
will also be sampling foods from different countries, playing games from
different countries, and doing lots of different crafts. Watch for a
note to come home soon about this special day. :) I'm really looking forward to it.
Thanksgiving and Frienship Soup
Thanks to all the families who brought in items to make our "Friendship Soup" happen. The kids enjoyed eating soup and eating the pumpkin pie! :) I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Halloween Party was a blast!
Thanks to the families of the students who signed up to bring treats for the class today! The kids were so excited to be in their costumes, do a craft project with their reading buddies, and have fun during the Halloween Party! I hope everyone enjoyed trick-or-treating!

Halloween Party (Wednesday Oct. 31st)
Halloween party details with attached note that students should have brought home with them :)
Dear Parents and Guardians,
On Wednesday,
October 31st, we will be having our classroom Halloween
parties. We will be participating in a
variety of Halloween activities and then have our yummy snacks and watch a
Halloween video in our classroom.
Please send your child’s costume to school in a
bag marked with their name (We will be changing after lunch). Just a reminder that costumes need to be
school appropriate, therefore no blood or weapons will be allowed. Due to time constraints, we will be unable to
apply special make-up, hair color, etc.
To help out with snacks for parties this year I am asking for
volunteers to supply some goodies for each party. Please let me know if you are unable to help
at this time so that I am able to make other arrangements.
Thanks for making our celebration a spooky
good time!
Mr. Richter J

Week 2 of school is complete! We are starting to get into the routines of practicing the Daily 5 (reading) and have started Rocket Math. This week we started talking about living vs non-living things in Science and were able to venture out to the nature trail at Crescent to identify these things.
On Friday, students were introduced to "Hodag High Fives". Ask your child about them! Students receive these for demonstrating the 4 B's at Crescent. If they have two at the end of the week, they receive a prize! Have a good weekend and I hope everyone was able to watch the Packers last night! GO PACK GO! -Mr. Richter

1st Day of School!
Today was a great first day of school! The students were able to get to know each other a little bit and we tackled the task of putting all of our school supplies away. Parents should be getting letters in the "Home" folder of each student. I'll be posting pictures of things we are doing in the classroom later this week. Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday.
